Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the development of buying and merchandising strategies, working within established parameters at all times.
  • Responsible for merchandise acquisition and vendor coordination for designated departments.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure timely delivery of assigned purchase orders.
  • Identify future product offerings through research on customer needs and technological trends.
  • Develop pricing strategies in collaboration with the marketing department and management.
  • Source products that meet customer requirements, ensuring optimal supply chain utilization.
  • Support negotiations and work with the supply base to achieve cost-effective agreements.
  • Collaborate with designers on style development, design research, fabric and print advice, and informing best-seller identification.
  • Work closely with the merchandising team on stock management, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.
  • Monitor competitor activities through market research to track trends, forecasting, color, fabric, etc.
  • Develop promotional plans and review/adjust seasonal and weekly plans.
  • Vendor identification and development.
  • Obtain range merchandise after effective negotiation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and design teams on visual merchandising promotions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • Set quality standards for merchandise with QA.
  • Reconcile store plans and fix departmental financial plans.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends and competitor analysis.
