Job Role Summary:

This key role plays a pivotal part in the culinary team, overseeing the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes to meet customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing diverse food items as directed by senior staff members.
  • Possessing refined knife handling skills for efficient food preparation.
  • Adapting seamlessly to any section of the kitchen with ease.
  • Displaying a thorough understanding of culinary terminology to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Following established recipes diligently to maintain consistency in food quality.
  • Exhibiting proficiency in completing tasks efficiently while maintaining a clean work environment.
  • FOLLOWING Public Health standards according to company guidelines within their designated area.
  • Maintaining assigned areas in anticipation of inspections.
  • Reporting for duty at scheduled times and adhering to personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene policies.

Financial Accountabilities include:

  • Cost management through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.

Motivational Accountabilities include:

  • No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Qualifications and Education Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in upscale settings such as hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or convention banqueting services and at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • A culinary school degree is required for this position.
  • Strong leadership skills in multicultural environments are essential.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills are vital.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • Knowledge of personalized services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills are necessary.
  • Intermediate computer software skills are required for this position.
  • Possessing a good understanding of basic accounting principles such as numbering flow, Debits/Credits, adjusting entries, and corrections is crucial.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and establish a good rapport with senior officials and corporate office staff.
