Technical Operations Manager

This role involves overseeing the performance of plants assigned to us, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance productivity and equipment efficiency.

  1. To serve as a subject matter expert for packaging, filling, process and utility equipment, identify gaps in functionality and provide engineering solutions.
  2. To establish and monitor production, quality and utility-related key performance indicators (KPIs) for greenfield/brownfield project plants and individuals, analyze the gaps and develop strategies for improvement.
  3. Design and plan plant layouts, validate equipment P&ID and GA drawings, and ensure that all equipment is properly sized and functioning within specifications.
  4. To oversee project management activities, act as a single point of contact with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and negotiate commercial offers. Finalize supplier contracts, initiate capital expenditures, and monitor vendor payments. Develop checklists for factory acceptance tests (FAT) and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.
  5. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reviews with CFT members, maintain accurate records, and ensure portal hygiene.
  6. To identify opportunities for technical upgradation, capacity expansion, and efficiency improvements.
  7. To execute initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs.
  8. Conduct routine or case-specific technical plant audits, visit manufacturing locations to inspect equipment, and engage with vendors to trial new equipment.
  9. Maintain 100% uptime for all equipment, prepare schedules, follow best maintenance practices, and negotiate with OEMs for annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
  10. Support environmental health and safety (EHS) and legal teams to ensure 100% compliance and achieve KPIs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of packaging, filling, process and utility equipment.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects from initiation to completion.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
