Job Opportunity: Strategic Procurement Lead

Seeking a seasoned and astute procurement professional to spearhead the procurement function in a leading manufacturer of Chlor-Alkali chemicals.

The ideal candidate will develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, chemicals, consumables, and services that ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and uninterrupted production in alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories, including raw materials, solvents, catalysts, packaging, and engineering supplies.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Identify, assess, and develop suppliers (domestic and international).
  • Negotiation & Agreement Management: Lead negotiations and manage long-term agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Cost Optimization & Budgeting: Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and process improvements.
  • Procurement Budget Management: Prepare and monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Inventory & Supply Assurance: Collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain optimum stock levels while minimizing working capital.
  • Supply Chain Reliability: Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production disruptions.
  • Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.
  • Process Digitalization: Drive digitalization and automation of procurement processes using ERP systems.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and company compliance standards.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify risks in the supply chain and implement contingency plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within the chemical/process/manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
