High-Level Mainframe System Tester

About this role:
This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in testing the mainframe environment. As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our mainframe systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing comprehensive test strategies and plans to define the scope and approach of testing.
- Analyzing requirements and identifying test scenarios/designing test cases.
- Preparing test data/test JCL according to test scenarios.
- Executing test cases by submitting jobs and analyzing results.
A strong understanding of TSO/ISPF commands, editing JCL, and working with IT developers to analyze COBOL programs is essential.
The ideal candidate will be able to edit mainframe files using layouts/copybooks and verify database outputs.
Familiarity with Agile methodology or STLC Lifecycle (Software Testing Life Cycle) is required.
Other key skills include:
- Good knowledge in analyzing logs in Spool for Abended jobs.
- Ability to work with development/support teams to provide root cause analysis.
- Preparation of test closure reports/signoff for testing.
This is a long-term project requiring immediate joiners. The successful candidate should be able to participate in capability building and upskilling programs.
