Job Title: Technical Buyer

 

  • Liaise with supervisors to ensure prompt supply of technical spare parts and ship repair services.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including arranging logistics for the transportation of spare parts to vessels.
  • Send requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations on annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services of navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, and hull cleaning, as well as bulk purchases of anodes and other technical spare parts.
  • Communicate with vessels regarding information required for requisitions.
  • Follow up with suppliers' quotations.
  • Prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, packing lists, and other necessary documents.
  • Assist in logistics arrangement (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport).
  • Cooperate with agents and ships to arrange supply of spare parts and repair services at convenient ports.
  • Process invoices by verifying vendor invoices against quotations and ensuring timely payment within credit terms.
  • Document filing/printing of Invoices.
  • Perform other duties assigned by managers/supervisors.
  • Teamwork is essential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Must have expertise in spares stores services and all technical purchasing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required.
