HVAC Design Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled MEP & HVAC design engineer to lead the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, industrial, hospital, and high-rise building projects.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing HVAC systems, performing heat load calculations and cooling load estimations, and selecting and specifying HVAC equipment.

The selected candidate will prepare detailed system layouts, develop technical specifications, and manage documentation and approvals with clients and consultants.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, and 3–8 years of experience in MEP & HVAC design engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, hospital, and high-rise building projects.
  • Performing heat load calculations and cooling load estimations as per ASHRAE/ISHRAE standards.
  • Selecting and specifying HVAC equipment, including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF systems, and other HVAC components.
  • Preparing detailed system layouts using AutoCAD / Revit, and developing technical specifications and design reports.
  • Managing documentation, submittals, and approvals with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinating with MEP teams (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing), architects, and contractors for project integration.
  • Reviewing vendor proposals and conducting technical evaluations.
  • Supporting value engineering, energy efficiency improvements, and system optimization.
  • Providing technical support during installation, testing & commissioning stages.

Preferred qualifications include prior exposure to commercial, industrial, healthcare, and large infrastructure projects.

Skills and competencies required include:

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC system design (Chillers, VRV/VRF, Air Distribution, Hydronic Systems).
  • Familiarity with MEP coordination and integration.
  • Proficiency in HAP / TRACE, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier E20-II, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes: ASHRAE, ISHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, IS, ASME.
  • Good communication, documentation, and client handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
