Job Title: Lead Mechanical Designer for Plumbing and HVAC Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mechanical designer to join our team. As a lead mechanical designer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for various projects.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in system design, regulatory compliance, and effective project management to ensure safe and efficient installation and operation of building services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design appropriate plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
  • Perform calculations as directed by senior engineers.
  • Develop plumbing system layouts, including pipe sizing and equipment selection.
  • Maintain knowledge of International Plumbing design codes.
  • Utilize Revit and work in a BIM environment.
Technical Requirements:
  • 8-15 years of experience in plumbing design and BIM.
  • Conduct heat load calculations, design HVAC systems, select equipment, calculate ventilation requirements, pressurization needs, smoke management systems, pump head calculations, external static pressure, and size ducts and pipes.
  • Design fire protection systems, perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems, design and layout fire detection and alarm systems, review fire protection system submittals, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8-15 years of experience in plumbing/HVAC & firefighting.
