Job Title: Portfolio Risk Strategist

Risk Management Overview

The portfolio risk strategist plays a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating various types of risks associated with investment portfolios. This includes market, credit, operational, liquidity, and regulatory risks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Analyze potential risks and evaluate investment portfolios to assess exposure to various risk factors.
  2. Implement risk mitigation strategies and support the implementation of risk limits in systems.
  3. Collaborate with the investment team to ensure risk considerations are incorporated into portfolio decisions.
  4. Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA is preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within an investment management or financial services organization.
  • Candidates with analytical skills and experience in using risk models are suitable.
Key Skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in using risk models, quantitative analysis, and stress testing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Wealth Management, Mutual Funds, PMS, or Alternate Investments is preferred.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape applicable to investment management organizations is desirable.
