
EHS Director

We seek a highly experienced and dynamic leader to spearhead the development, implementation, and governance of EHS standards and programs across our operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategizing and institutionalizing best-in-class EHS practices to ensure regulatory compliance, operational safety, and continuous improvement in a complex, multi-location chemical manufacturing environment.
EHS Strategy & Implementation:
- Develop and deploy a comprehensive implementation plan for group-level EHS standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistent rollout and adoption across all business units and sites.
Governance & Compliance:
- Establish robust governance frameworks utilizing EHS metrics, dashboards, periodic reporting, and management reviews to monitor compliance and drive improvements. Ensure adherence to all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements related to EHS.
Risk Management:
- Institutionalize systematic processes for hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures. Proactively identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard people, assets, and the environment.
Auditing & Inspection:
- Deploy and manage a rigorous EHS auditing and inspection system. Ensure timely follow-ups and closure of non-conformities, fostering accountability and continuous enhancement of EHS performance.
Budgeting & Resource Planning:
- Prepare and manage annual operating expenses (OPEX), capital expenditure (CAPEX) budget, and manpower planning aligned with strategic objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and execute an annual EHS improvement plan focused on elevating safety culture, operational excellence, and team management.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the EHS team, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and employee engagement.
Safety Culture & Behavioral Programs:
- Champion a proactive safety culture by designing and promoting behavioral safety improvement initiatives. Drive awareness programs to instill ownership and accountability at all organizational levels.
Collaboration:
- Facilitate EHS collaboration across business units to encourage cross-learning, innovation, and collective risk management.
Training:
- Effectively communicate critical safety messages and lessons learned from incidents or emerging risks to diverse stakeholders through presentations, workshops, and training sessions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) / Masters in MBA/PGDM or equivalent
- Professional Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) / Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS)
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in EHS leadership roles within the specialty chemicals or chemical manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record in implementing group-wide EHS standards and compliance frameworks.
- Strong expertise in regulatory compliance, hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety audits.
- Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across large, diverse operations.
