Chief Safety Officer (CSO)

Achieve Excellence in Environment, Health and Safety

Role Summary:

The Chief Safety Officer (CSO) will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) program across all campus facilities. The CSO will ensure that the workplace complies with health and safety legislation and avoids serious incidents and accidents.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement EHS Strategies: Identify activity-based risk assessments and conduct monthly basis risk assessments and risk assessments for new activities in line with method statements.
  2. Investigate Incidents: Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses in partnership with operations departments, developing RCA and correction for the incident.
  3. Provide Guidance and Support: Provide EHS guidance and support services to entire facilities as requested, ensuring legal compliance and monitoring.
  4. Ensure Compliance: Ensure that the workplace complies with health and safety legislation and avoids serious incidents and accidents at the facility.
  5. Manage Audits: Manage internal and external audits by management and certification body, conducting statutory mock drills, and internal mock drills.
  6. Inspect Equipment: Inspect equipment and workplaces to ensure suitable protective equipment is provided and being used correctly.
  7. Waste Management: Handle waste management disposal process, ensuring safety committee meetings are conducted on regular basis.
  8. Emergency Response: Prepare and update site-specific emergency response procedures whenever required.
  9. Lead Team Engagement: Lead through active engagement with teams at all levels to ensure EHS requirements are implemented throughout the campus.
