About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Security Operations Center, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the CSOC, including security operations management and security incident response. Your expertise will be crucial in detecting and analyzing security threats, containing and eradicating cybersecurity incidents, and providing threat and vulnerability analysis security reports to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform log analysis, use of IDS, IPS, FW, and other signature technology and security tools, including SIEM, SOAR, DLP, APT, and cloud security tools – CSPM, CNAPP, CASB.
  • Provide threat and vulnerability analysis security reports and advisory services to management periodically.
  • Identify weak links in information security products and determine how to mitigate control deficiencies as a proactive approach.
  • Understand internal SOC technologies, evaluate, and recommend security device upgrades and patches for remediation and eradication procedures.
  • Plan and adhere to a book of work comprising industry standards and regulatory obligations, and perform regulatory gap analysis.
  • Analyze and evaluate network, system, and security alerts, performing triage to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact, and identifying specific vulnerabilities.
  • Lead and develop a well-trained SIOC Team with core competencies necessary to manage risk, stay ahead of security threats, or position the team to effectively mitigate risk.
  • Actively participate in decision-making with leadership and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions.
  • Play a substantive role in the training and development of staff/SOC analysts.
Skill Set and Qualification Requirements
  • A degree in information technology/computer information systems or related (essential).
  • Licensing or certifications for Security Operations Center Manager, including ISO27K: ISMS, CISSP, ITIL, CISM, GSEC, SIEM, ISSEP, ISSAP, GCIA.
  • Min 3-8 years of relevant experience in handling and managing the SOC.
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations, incident response methodologies, and security technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to own delegated tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work to maximize productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and trouble analysis skills.
