Pfizer Data Integration Role Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Data Integration Engineer to join our team at Pfizer Digital Solution and Service Management organization.


Our team is responsible for providing thought leadership in applications, platforms, and technology portfolios, as well as operational support and maintenance globally for all solutions within the Commercial and Marketing Facing domains. Our mission is to deliver impactful and sustainable technology solutions that help bring medicines to patients.


The Data Integration Engineer will be a key member of the application support and maintenance services team for core Commercial business processes. This role will primarily focus on data integrations built on Mid-Tier platforms, including Informatica, MuleSoft, Oracle, Snowflake, Matillion, Postgres, and Salesforce.com.


This role will maintain stable, compliant, and reliable systems, engage with customers and service providers to resolve support issues, and partner with solution delivery to deploy new solutions and capabilities. The qualified candidate in this role will serve as a technical resource on the team to ensure application service, availability, and performance levels are met.


Key Responsibilities



  2. Apply comprehensive technical and domain knowledge of data integration platforms to diagnose root cause and resolve complex data integration issues faced by commercial systems.
  3. Actively lead and coordinate technical red teams across multiple internal and external vendor service organizations to diagnose root cause and resolve complex data integration issues involving interconnected systems.
  4. Implement proactive automated monitoring of data interfaces; Run metrics to determine performance issues including slow running interfaces, data rejects, data errors, etc.
  5. Develop new options and implement appropriate measures to resolve recurring performance issues.
  6. Conduct code and configuration changes to data integration components required to fix bugs or deliver enhancements. Manage appropriate software development life cycle change documentation as per approved SOPs.
  7. Lead and influence the conversation at appropriate data governance forums, such as Master Data Management Governance, to raise data quality issues faced and to continually improve quality of data within commercial systems.
  8. Coordinate with Development & Risk Management to establish data security needs; Proactively monitor, review, and implement compliance and security measures to meet stated data security requirements.
  9. Maintain up-to-date versions of data integration platforms, ensuring testing and migration of code as required.
  10. Coordinate with DBA and Infrastructure teams to monitor and maintain the optimum performance and health of the databases, including Snowflake, Oracle, and Postgres environments.
  11. Maintain up-to-date documentation and lead with examples influencing data practitioners to create effective knowledge bases covering data integration platform topics. Support legal and audit requests.
  12. Have hands-on experience with data integration tools, such as Informatica, Matillion, and Salesforce.com, as well as databases like Oracle, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.

Requirements



  2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Management.
  3. 5+ years of experience in data integration, with 3+ years of most recent experience and demonstrated expertise with two or more technologies, including Salesforce.com integration.
  4. Hands-on experience in programming (Java, .NET, Python, etc.) and/or software development lifecycle management.
  5. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship competencies, with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  7. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, earning the trust of customers and teammates.
  8. Ability to adapt to new work assignments, flexibility, and willingness to work with a global team across regions and time zones.
