Job Title: Senior Naval Architect

Job Description:

As a Senior Naval Architect, you will play a critical role in helping our team of data scientists build digital solutions for large container ships. Your expertise will be essential in creating ship digital twins, fuel consumption-power curves, and vessel hydrodynamic performance models. You will also guide project teams in understanding business requirements, translating them into actionable tasks, and driving adoption and articulation of value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze container ship operations data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Conceptualize and build digital twins of large container vessels, including new and old ships in the fleet
  • Identify relevant data needed to build container ship digital twins
  • Guide data scientists with proactive domain inputs for building digital twins
  • Build and guide digital twin models that include fuel performance curves, vessel hydrodynamic stability, and other relevant parameters

Requirements:

  • At least 12-20 years of experience in naval architecture, with expertise in ship design, vessel digital twins, and fuel performance curves
  • Hands-on experience in conceptualizing and building container vessel fuel consumption curves and other ship hydrodynamic performance models
  • Excellent appreciation and/or experience of data science subjects, including simulation, optimization, and machine learning models
  • Excellent consulting skills, including leadership in uncertain and ambiguous situations, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting
  • Excellent communication skills, including spoken, written, and client-facing interactions
