Senior Data Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable systems to unify data lakes and warehouses.

Your primary focus will be on architecting and implementing petabyte-scale lakehouse architectures using Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Trino. You will work closely with our team to develop and optimize real-time data pipelines, high-performance applications, and modern data warehouses.

In addition, you will collaborate with database experts to manage diverse data workloads across RDBMS and NoSQL systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable systems to unify data lakes and warehouses.
  • Develop and optimize real-time data pipelines using Kafka, Pulsar, and Flink to process structured/unstructured data with low latency.
  • Leverage Java to build scalable, high-throughput data applications and services.
  • Implement modern data infrastructure using modern data warehouses and query engines for sub-second operations and analytics on real-time data.
  • Work with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) systems to manage diverse data workloads.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across multi-tenant systems.
  • Manage production infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering with large-scale systems (petabyte-level).
  • Expert proficiency in Java for data-intensive applications.
  • Hands-on experience with lakehouse architectures, stream processing (Flink), and event streaming (Kafka/Pulsar).
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with RDBMS/NoSQL databases.
  • Proven track record in optimizing query engines (e.g., Spark, Presto) and data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security frameworks, and multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
