Job Title: Senior Data Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled data strategist to lead the development and implementation of advanced AI/ML solutions within the Oil & Gas domain. The ideal candidate will specialise in Exploration & Production (E&P), Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Supply Chain, and HSE datasets, acting as a vital bridge between business and IT teams.

This role focuses on applying AI/ML techniques - including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision - to extract meaningful insights, generate recommendations, and deliver measurable business outcomes such as efficiency gains, downtime reduction, cost optimisation, and safety improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement AI/ML strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Translate business problems into technical AI/ML solution designs, including feature engineering and model selection.
  • Apply AI/ML algorithms - predictive modelling, anomaly detection, time series forecasting, reinforcement learning - to large-scale datasets.
  • Implement MLOps best practices covering deployment, monitoring, containerisation, versioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Work with big data ecosystems such as Apache Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, and data platforms.
  • Ensure data governance by enforcing data privacy, ethical AI, bias mitigation, and explainability using frameworks like SHAP or LIME.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data architects, and business stakeholders through requirements planning, documentation, and validation.
  • Continuously research and incorporate emerging AI/ML and cloud technologies into solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience (8–10 years) in AI/ML roles with strong exposure to Oil & Gas (E&P, reservoir, drilling, logistics).
  • Hands-on expertise in Python, R, Scala, and ML frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of big data technologies and cloud ML platforms.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with safety and compliance standards in Oil & Gas industry.
