Special Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educator to join our team of professionals providing supportive services to children with developmental needs.

This freelance role involves working one-on-one with a child in their home environment, focusing on developing functional academics, communication skills, and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver personalized special education sessions tailored to the child's goals and needs.
  • Foster effective communication, basic literacy, and language through engaging activities.
  • Support the child's independence in daily routines such as dressing, eating, and personal care.
  • Conduct informal assessments to set measurable goals and track progress.
  • Develop interactive learning tools and methods suitable for the child's age and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions and update the team regularly.
  • Collaborate with parents and other therapists to provide holistic support.

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies and life skills training.
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting.
  • A respectful and non-judgmental approach when interacting with families.
