We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup Engineer to join our team.

Job Title: Senior Backup Engineer

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backup and recovery solutions, with expertise in managing and troubleshooting data center environments.

  • Configure and manage backup systems for regular data backups, utilizing knowledge of backup tools and tape libraries.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to backup jobs and tape libraries to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Test backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of backup procedures and recovery plans to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on data protection initiatives to align with business goals.
  • Monitor backup systems for performance and capacity to optimize resources.
  • Implement robust security protocols for data backups to prevent unauthorized access.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 9 years of experience in backup engineering within data centers.
  • Strong knowledge of backup tools, including Veritas, Veeam, Commvault, and Networker.
  • Experience with tape libraries and data deduplication techniques.
  • Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
