Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a strong understanding of chemical production processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and execute chemical production batches following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  2. Safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors (autoclave) in line with company policies.
  3. Perform filtration of low-melting solids and ensure optimal filtration techniques are applied.
  4. Report any deviations from specifications and work with the senior chemist to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  5. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  6. Generate reports and summaries as required by the production and quality control teams.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  8. Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
  9. Operate production equipment such as reactors, mixers, and filters.
  10. Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality.
  11. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and research and development.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth production process.
  13. Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Candidates with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry [B. Sc (Chemistry)/ M. Sc (Chemistry)] from a reputed university with high academic achievements may apply.
  • Individuals with up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector.
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • A desire to gain experience in leading and contributing to production.
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include:

  1. Meticulous monitoring of production processes.
  2. Strong visual acuity to detect subtle changes in processes.
  3. Fine motor skills for precise operation and adjustment of production equipment.
  4. The ability to sustain focus for extended periods.
  5. Physical endurance to stand or move across the production floor for prolonged durations.
  6. Handling machinery and monitoring production activities.
