The Assistant Manager – Payroll role is responsible for end-to-end payroll management, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, statutory compliance with labor and tax regulations, and payroll-related reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees, guaranteeing precision and timeliness.
  • Validate and reconcile inputs such as attendance records, leave requests, new hires, exits, salary revisions, and variable pay.
  • Maintain full compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, and other applicable labor laws).
  • Address employee inquiries related to salary, taxation, and payroll policies.
  • Prepare payroll MIS, reports, and analytics for management review.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Support process automation, audits, and continuous improvement in payroll systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Human Resources. MBA/PGDM or CMA/CA certification.
  • 7-10 years of experience in payroll management, specifically in India payroll.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of payroll systems (SAP, ADP, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, reconciliations).
  • Familiarity with income tax and statutory compliance.

Behavioural Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
