About This Role

High performance computing (HPC) is a field that requires expertise in software development, parallel programming, and performance engineering. The ESSDS team at Qualcomm is seeking an experienced HPC software developer to join their ranks. In this role, you will design and develop software solutions for HPC infrastructure running electronic design automation (EDA) workflows and AI workloads.

  • Design and develop software solutions and services for HPC infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities and deliver solutions for EDA workflow optimizations
  • Provide HPC expertise across portfolio of projects

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HPC concepts, including cluster infrastructure management, job scheduling, and orchestration. They will also have experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and Rust. Additionally, they should be familiar with the latest compute, storage, and networking architectures.

  • 10+ years of experience in developing software solutions for HPC grid infrastructure
  • Broad knowledge of latest compute, storage, and networking architectures
  • Experience of building HPC infrastructure in public cloud environments

What You Will Do

As an HPC software developer, you will be responsible for executing projects in partnership with global Engineering IT teams. You will also manage and track the software development process from development to production release in collaboration with other software developers.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in programming languages, deep understanding of HPC job schedulers, and familiarity with EDA and semiconductor design process. They will also have exposure to AI and ML workloads running on HPC infrastructure.

  • Proven expertise in parallel and distributed programming, GPU computing, and performance engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and Rust
  • Deep understanding of HPC job schedulers such as LSF, Slurm, and PBS

Education and Work Experience

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, or related field is required. The ideal candidate will also have 5+ years of IT-relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor's degree.
