Job Title: Data Engineering Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Scalable Data Models: Utilize dbt (Data Build Tool) to create reusable and scalable data models that meet the organization's needs.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers: Ingest, transform, and integrate data from various sources in collaboration with the data engineering team.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Maintain consistency and documentation across all datasets to ensure reliable data delivery.
  • Work with Analysts and Business Teams: Understand business needs and deliver actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Implement Data Testing Frameworks: Validate pipeline integrity to guarantee reliable data delivery.
  • Optimize SQL Queries: Improve performance and scalability of data transformations to meet business demands.
  • Manage Codebases: Maintain version control and CI/CD pipelines for analytics code to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Pipelines: Ensure data pipelines and models run smoothly in production by monitoring and troubleshooting issues promptly.

Required Skills:

  • Data Analysis and SQL Skills: Develop reports using Looker and Domo tools to provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or BI development is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL: Experience with dbt or similar data modeling tools is essential.
  • Cloud Data Warehouses: Familiarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and other cloud platforms is necessary.
  • Data Warehousing Concepts: Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts is crucial.
  • Version Control and CI/CD: Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows is required.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork.
