Senior PostgreSQL Support Engineer (Full time, Austria or Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PostgreSQL Support Engineer to join our team. This role involves working on complex incidents, performance puzzles, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the final escalation point for complex incidents.
  • Design and automate PostgreSQL deployments in Kubernetes with Operators.
  • Tune and optimize database performance.
  • Build and operate resilient clusters with Patroni, repmgr, streaming replication, and DR strategies.
  • Implement monitoring and observability pipelines in Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, and integrate with ELK/EFK stacks.
  • Secure and compliant: Implement encryption at rest, TLS in transit, role-based access control, and audit logging.
  • Mentor and evangelize: Coach junior engineers in best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years administering PostgreSQL in production at scale.
  • Deep expertise in Linux and shell scripting.
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators.
  • Mastery of performance tuning: query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling.
  • Hands-on with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/spoken English, and customer-facing skills.
