Job Description

As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization's programme portfolio. Your expertise in programme design, management, and evaluation will be instrumental in driving impactful initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Planning & Strategy
    • Develop long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Programme Management
    • Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
    • Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Partnership Development
    • Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organizations to strengthen programme outcomes.
    • Represent the organization in external forums as required.
  • Team Support & Development
    • Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
    • Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Monitoring & Learning
    • Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
    • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
  • Financial & Compliance Oversight
    • Contribute inputs to budget planning and monitor utilization in assigned programme areas.
    • Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline. A minimum of 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector is required, including experience in leadership roles.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team management skills, ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships, excellent communication and analytical abilities, demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results, and ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
