Seeking an Optical Design Specialist with experience in stray light analysis and optical system modeling using Ansys SPEOS and Zemax Optic Studio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and optimize optical models for lens systems, surfaces, and tolerancing in Zemax.
  • Conduct stray light analysis for imaging, illumination, and optical sensor systems using SPEOS.
  • Analyze ghost images, scattering, reflections, and diffraction effects in optical designs.
  • Use SPEOS GPU to develop and validate material library models for materials and coatings.
  • Develop mitigation strategies (baffles, coatings, surface finishes, apertures, filters) based on simulation results.
  • Conduct trade-off studies with and without baffles and between CPU and GPU.
  • Publish technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client reviews.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Photonics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansys SPEOS and Zemax Optic Studio (sequential & non-sequential ray tracing).
  • Strong knowledge of non-sequential ray tracing, ghost analysis, scatter modeling.
  • Experience in optical material properties, coatings, and surfaces.
  • CAD integration proficiency for opto-mechanical system modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret simulation results.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in automotive lighting, optics, ODX export, mechanical designs.
  • Familiarity with Python for post-processing, automation, or analysis.
  • Lab experience correlating stray light measurements with simulation results.
