Quality Assurance Professional

Our organization seeks a Quality Assurance (QA) professional to ensure the quality of software for optical metrology systems.

  • The successful candidate will perform various types of testing including integration, system interface, functional, regression and benchmarking testing to guarantee software quality.
  • He/she will collaborate closely with product, hardware, software, application, characterization teams in designing QA testing strategies and plans based on product requirements, system specifications and technical design documents.
  • They will create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Responsibilities also include planning, coordinating and executing testing activities to meet product release schedules and requirements.
  • Additionally, he/she will design, implement and maintain test automation capabilities to improve the efficiency and coverage of QA testing.
  • Developing, maintaining and improving testing suites/processes for various purposes such as feature testing, regression testing, release testing and benchmarking are essential responsibilities.
  • Another key aspect is documenting software defects and working closely with software teams in addressing them.
  • Tracking quality assurance metrics like defect densities and open defect counts is critical to success.
  • Identifying software quality gaps and providing solutions is also an important part of this role.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or a related discipline is required.
  • Passion for quality and taking ownership is essential.
  • Critical problem solving and strong analytical skills are highly valued.
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes is required.
  • Experience in developing comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements is also needed.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools is desirable.
  • Solid knowledge in scripting is also beneficial.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is highly valued.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Prior experience with working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: semiconductor front-end processes, Thin Film and OCD metrology technologies, optical spectroscopies and material characterization is preferred.
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: numerical analysis, machine learning, software development is also beneficial.
  • ISTQB Certification is a plus.
