Key Role of an Assistant Manager in Pharmaceutical Product Development

Lead the development of new pharmaceutical products and optimize existing formulations for regulated markets.

Purpose:

This critical role will be responsible for developing new products and optimizing existing formulations, focusing on solid and liquid dosage forms for regulated markets like the US, Europe, and ROW.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope, activities, and timelines to ensure timely completion.
  • Drive the execution of new formulations by investigating API characteristics, safety, and compatibility with other ingredients.
  • Identify resource requirements and assimilate literature information for all development projects.
  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs using QBD principles.
  • Plan and coordinate lab-scale up/optimization and pilot BE batches, ensuring adherence to lab GMP systems.
  • Review lab experiment notebooks and technology transfer documents.
  • Liaise with technology transfer teams and production teams for seamless technology transfer.
  • Optimize existing product performance by investigating API characteristics and finished products.
  • Monitor stability studies and evaluate results to advance product development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure timely project completion.
  • Prepare new departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory and store raw materials and finished goods properly.
Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Experience in formulation development for Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred Pellets project experience.
