Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing chartering activities, including spot, time charter, and contract fixtures. They will also identify and secure cargoes and employment opportunities through liaison with brokers, charterers, and operators.

  • Chartering Activities: Manage chartering activities for owned bulk carriers to ensure profitable employment of the fleet.
  • Cargo and Employment Opportunities: Identify and secure cargoes and employment opportunities through negotiations with brokers, charterers, and operators.
  • Negotiation and Documentation: Negotiate charter party terms and oversee the preparation of post-fixture documentation to facilitate smooth execution of contracts.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market movements, freight indices, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights that support commercial decisions.
  • Contract Execution: Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as operations, technical, and legal teams to ensure seamless contract execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Voyage Results: Analyze voyage results to evaluate profitability and contribute to performance and market reporting.
  • Records and Client Interactions: Maintain comprehensive records of fixtures, voyage outcomes, and client interactions to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Market Insights and Feedback: Provide regular market insights and feedback to senior management to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Business Development: Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and networking platforms to enhance business development and drive growth.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in commercial shipping or vessel chartering, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline is required.
