Job Title: Cybersecurity Strategist

The primary objective of this role is to establish and implement a comprehensive information security strategy, ensuring the protection of systems, data, and applications. This involves aligning security initiatives with business objectives and fostering a culture of security within the organization.

  • This position requires an exceptional leader with a strong technical background, strategic thinking, and a passion for building secure, scalable, and compliant environments.
Main ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
  • Develop and drive the overall information security vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Provide executive-level guidance on risk management, compliance, and emerging threats, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Embed security best practices into business operations through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Risk & Security Program Management
  • Design and enforce comprehensive security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure enterprise-wide risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis.
  • Lead the development and execution of incident response strategies and playbooks, overseeing security investigations and coordinating cross-functional remediation efforts.
  • Maintain real-time monitoring and response to security threats, alerts, and reports.
Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure adherence to relevant frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001 and GDPR, maintaining comprehensive documentation of security policies and incident history.
  • Support internal and external audits, driving closure of any findings and implementing corrective actions.
Security Awareness & Culture
  • Promote a culture of security through ongoing training and awareness programs, collaborating with department leaders to ensure security is integrated into everyday practices.
Technical Leadership
  • Oversee the implementation and management of tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption, staying ahead of industry trends and technologies to continually improve defenses.
  • Conduct regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, providing recommendations for improvement.
Application Security Oversight
  • Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into the SDLC, defining and enforcing secure coding standards and training teams on AppSec best practices.
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Advanced certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, or equivalent.
Experience
  • 12+ years in information security, with leadership experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong background in SaaS or technology-led companies, with proven ability to align security programs with business strategy.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Deep knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards, including NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Expertise in cloud security, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to influence at all levels.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools, including SAST, DAST, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving.
