Procurement Specialist Role Overview

As a highly skilled procurement specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing procurement operations to ensure timely delivery of quality materials while optimizing costs.

  • You will develop and implement procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company.
  • Maintain a supplier database, ensuring continuous assessment of performance and compliance.

Additionally, you will work closely with engineering and project teams to understand technical requirements for materials and equipment. This involves reviewing and approving technical documents, material submittals, and compliance certifications.

In this role, you will monitor procurement budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. You will analyze procurement data and supplier performance to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Effective logistics and supply chain coordination are crucial in ensuring timely delivery of materials by coordinating with suppliers and logistics teams.

Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies. Conduct risk assessments related to procurement, including supplier financial stability and geopolitical risks.

Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems is necessary to streamline purchasing workflows. You will generate reports on procurement performance, supplier KPIs, and cost savings.
