Job Title: Tax Advisory Professional

About the Role:

The position involves offering expert guidance on indirect tax matters, encompassing research and analysis of legal provisions, drafting of advises and compliance reports, and preparation of PowerPoint presentations for client meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of legal provisions related to indirect taxation.
  • Draft advises, opinions, and compliance reports on indirect tax matters.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, trainings, and seminars.
  • Analyze client data to estimate tax impact on business transactions.
  • Develop tax-efficient business models by identifying key areas of optimization.
  • Contribute to articles, monographs, and other knowledge management activities.

Client Service Delivery:

  • Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while ensuring firm risk issues are addressed.
  • Handle tax matters, including submissions, replies to notices, appeals, and representation during tax authorities' meetings.
  • Execute work on a multiple-client base, assuming near-independent responsibility for smaller clients.
  • Develop rapport with middle layers of client management.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Stay abreast of firm-wide and competitor activities, as well as general business trends.
  • Apply knowledge to deliver solutions to clients, adding value to their businesses.

Networking & Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate with managers.
  • Network internally within the peer group and other levels in the firm to gain understanding of issues impacting clients.
  • Compile legal databases and contribute to study sessions, updating with latest legal developments.

Requirements:

  • Candidate should be a CA or Law Graduate from a reputable institution with a strong academic track record.
  • 0-2 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax, preferably in litigation or advisory roles. Prior experience in GST and/or customs is preferred.

Prior Experience: Applicants must have excellent communication and drafting skills, strong analytical and researching skills, and a proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
