Database Architectural Expertise Sought

We are seeking a seasoned DBA with extensive experience in designing and implementing robust database architectures.

  • Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement secure, scalable database systems using MS SQL Server and Oracle platforms.
  2. Lead complex migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud).
  3. Oversee performance optimization, capacity planning, and high-availability solutions for mission-critical databases.
  4. Establish and enforce strict database standards, security policies, backup, and recovery procedures.
  5. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and support of business objectives.
  6. Provide expert guidance on best practices in SQL/PLSQL/T-SQL development, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling.
  7. Conduct thorough database health checks, audits, and troubleshoot critical issues across both SQL Server and Oracle platforms.
  8. Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools aligned with organizational objectives.
  9. Train junior DBAs and developers in database best practices.
  10. Ensure adherence to industry regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience as a DBA with expertise in MS SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and Oracle (12c/19c/21c).
  • Proven skills in database architecture, clustering (AlwaysOn, RAC), replication, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
  • Strong understanding of data security, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage large-scale, mission-critical database systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate / MCSE: Data Management and Analytics.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Experience with tools like Redgate, OEM, SQL Sentry, or Quest Spotlight.
