Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Mechanical Design Professional to lead our team in designing innovative cooling solutions for hyperscale data centers.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of thermal management, HVAC systems, and energy-efficient cooling technologies critical to the operation of large-scale, high-performance data centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cooling System Design Leadership: Design cutting-edge cooling solutions for hyperscale data centers, including chilled water systems, direct expansion (DX) systems, air and liquid cooling technologies, and alternative cooling methods.
  • Design and optimize cooling infrastructure for data centers to maintain desired temperature and humidity levels, ensuring efficient performance, system reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Awareness of Industry Standards i.e. ASHRAE, ISHRAE, Carrier Handbooks, IS Standards, Eurovent, AHRI, SMACNA, ASME etc.
  • Select and specify cooling equipment, components, and materials, considering energy efficiency, scalability, and system integration.
Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors, to integrate cooling solutions with other building and data center systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure that cooling designs are aligned with project timelines, budget, and scope.
Project Management and Oversight:
  • Lead the technical aspects of cooling design throughout the project lifecycle, from concept through to installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers, ensuring high-quality standards are met and maintained throughout the design and implementation phases.
Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:
  • Design and implement sustainable and energy-efficient cooling systems, with a focus on minimizing energy consumption and the carbon footprint of data center operations.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate renewable energy solutions, waste heat recovery, or free cooling systems (e.g., using ambient air) into the data center cooling design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Building Services, Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and engineering of cooling systems for large-scale, hyperscale data centers or mission-critical facilities.

This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges. Additionally, strong project management skills, including experience managing project timelines, resources, and teams, are essential.
