Job Summary:
\We are seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join our team in Chennai. As a key member of our Order Management team, you will be responsible for reviewing customer purchase orders from Sales & LBP teams, transforming them into accurate Bills of materials (BOM), and releasing the order to MEA factory. You will also drive continuous improvement on metrics and ensure accurately detailed technical order constructions in business systems at all manufacturing stages.
\Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

- Perform detailing activities necessary to communicate accurate Bill of materials to Manufacturing.\
- Review customer orders technically: Ensure all customer orders are accompanied by required specification/sizing sheets, data sheets, and other supporting documents as applicable. Verify product services required in the customer order (tests, certificates, COO, VDRL are available and applicable to the products selected. Identify special instructions in the order and/or attachments and ensure they are properly captured and addressed in the customer order.\
- Review customer orders from a commercial perspective by validating pricing/commission for standard/special constructions/products services per internal guidelines.\
- Communicate with internal sales team, LBPs, Global Industry Sales, R&D Engineering, Project management to ensure proper form, fit, and function for the bill of materials provided.\
- Verify the completeness and correctness of product structure against technical specs and ensure that the selected product is suitable for the service.\
- Monitor the progress of orders and escalate issues to ensure timely release of items to manufacturing.\
- Provide high-level ownership of completed work through the production process, includes items in manufacturing, assembly, and Bill of Materials related questions.\
- Support order engineers in preparing Bills of Materials for special valve construction and initiate requests to R&D Engineering team for new drawings as and when required.\
- Support change order owner in determining the change order charges and delivery impact\
- Work with Sales team, operations team, and other internal functions on customer requirements and resolve issues\
- Provide timely response to order enquiries and act as a point of escalation when necessary.\
- Responsible for providing monthly reports addressing Unclean orders, New Design requests, new part number creations with Customer specific processing, change order reports, Right First-Time issue reports.\
- Participate and embrace continuous process improvements focused on systems and reporting.\
- Create codification logic of special construction Finished Goods (FG) and standardize the process.\
- Communicate with Emerson factories/strategic sourcing team to price special components to maintain unit price of the newly created items and finished goods.\
- Attach additional specs documents (Parts drawing, engineering specs, of the newly created items as adequate.\
- Utilize and understand global configuration tools of PRM products groups (Regs & PRVs).\
About This Role:
\You have good attention to details and can review sales order requirements against Engineering Documents to produce High Quality Bill of Materials. You can identify the right part among the list of part numbers that looks the same. You can identify any discrepancies or conflicts based on Engineering logics. You can communicate with the Project Engineers/Application Engineers effectively to resolve any issues with Sales order requirements.
\For This Role, You Will Need:

- 3 years' overall experience\
- Knowledge in SAP, Oracle Business system, Microsoft, or any other ERP system is mandatory\
- General understanding on the quote to cash processes\
- Mechanical / Technical drawing interpretations\
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills\
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

- Knowledge of Pressure relief valves and regulators\
- Prior experience of 2+ years in similar industry or in Bill of materials function\
- Strong interpersonal skills.\
