The ideal candidate will be a strong backend engineer with experience building robust systems and a passion for applied AI. Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL, as well as experience delivering production-grade services, is essential. Additionally, the successful applicant will have hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models and working across backend systems and AI pipelines.

Key responsibilities include developing scalable, high-performance backend applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL. The successful candidate will also build and maintain APIs and microservices that enable real-time and batch inference of AI/ML models, fine-tune and adapt pre-trained models for specific business use cases, and integrate external AI services where appropriate.

As a key member of our cross-functional team, the Staff AI Engineer will collaborate with ML engineers, software developers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end AI-powered features. They will contribute to MLOps workflows, including deployment, versioning, and monitoring of models in production, and follow engineering best practices for clean code, testing, observability, and reliability.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, is required for this position. Additional qualifications include 3+ years of backend development with TypeScript and Node.js, 3+ years of hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models, strong proficiency with SQL and experience using PostgreSQL or MySQL, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines, and exposure to MLOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, or Airflow.
