Social Media Strategist

Mid-day is seeking a creative and experienced Social Media Executive from Mumbai to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in content creation, digital marketing, and social media strategy.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for staying ahead of social media trends and publishing content across various social media and digital platforms, adhering to platform-specific and brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Scout socials and various news sources for potential stories and trends.
- Ideate, create & edit engaging content – carousels, reels, memes, and more.
- Write accurate, engaging, and contextually relevant captions, headlines, and post descriptions for a variety of content types.
- Collaborate with editorial, production, and internal teams for top-performing content and ensure seamless coordination to develop story ideas and produce engaging stories for distribution across platforms.
- Optimize videos for maximum engagement.
- Manage content calendars and production schedules to ensure regular uploads.

Requirements:

- A media or news background is mandatory.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and platform-specific best practices is essential.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in social media marketing is required.
- Strong journalistic instincts and a keen news sense are crucial.
- Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends is necessary.
- Good aesthetic sense and basic video editing skills are beneficial.
- Graphic design expertise, specifically social media creatives and branding, is desirable.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate with stakeholders is vital.
