About This Role

The Thermal Management Team plays a crucial role in vehicle technology.

Thermal Management is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate system and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations across various truck brands within the Volvo Group.

The team leads the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Define CAB Climate functions by working closely with our engineers and understanding brand requirements on driver experience and cabin climate functions like seat heating/ventilation, steering wheel heating/windshield heating to enable them to function efficiently and safely.
  2. Set performance targets at individual component levels for components developed by component owners.
  3. Interact with simulation analysts to analyze cooling & heating system performance virtually and collaborate with full vehicle testing teams for verification.
  4. Verify test outcomes for heating systems and recommend necessary actions to meet set requirements.
  5. Ensure legal compliance and certification for heating & cooling systems.
  6. Lead and own System FMEA for heating & cooling systems and guide DFMEAs for component owners and engineers.
  7. Secure end-user function requirements like cab heating functionality.
  8. Be responsible for QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost & Feature) of your system.
  9. Support component engineers in setting technical requirements for suppliers.
  10. Define level 4 (system) time plans including cross-functional milestones using APQP as a supporting process.
  11. Manage Q-Tools like D-FMEA, S-FMEA, Risk Register, DFA, and DFAM independently.
  12. Take full responsibility for tasks and deliverables while guiding junior team members.
