The Role of a Product Champion: A Critical Position for Customer Success and Growth

At the intersection of product knowledge, customer success, and sales enablement, this pivotal role plays a critical part in identifying expansion opportunities and driving customer satisfaction through proactive support and solutioning.

  • Develop expertise in product offerings, features, and use cases.
  • Monitor and analyze customer usage data to identify customer behavior and trends, gaps, and opportunities for increased adoption or upsell.
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, and Product teams to understand customer needs and pain points.
  • Proactively reach out to customers with tailored recommendations for additional features, modules, or packages that could add value to their workflow.
  • Create clear, benefit-driven communication materials (emails, presentations, case studies) to articulate the value of upgrades or expansions.
  • Conduct product walkthroughs, demos, or Q&A sessions to support upsell conversations. The ideal candidate should be conversant with high-quality demos.
  • Track and report the success of upsell campaigns, customer engagement efforts, and revenue impact.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
