Job Summary

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for leading the administration of MySQL databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Database Administration: Ensure timely installation and configuration of MySQL servers, setup and monitoring of replication processes to guarantee data consistency.
  • Server Management: Manage Linux servers including user administration, process monitoring, and system resource checks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup.
  • Patching and Upgrades: Perform routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Proficiency in MySQL administration: You should have hands-on experience with MySQL server management, including database design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Effective communication: Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
