Senior Software Asset Manager Job Description

This is a key role in leading the design, customization, and implementation of advanced software asset management solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow technical expertise.

The selected professional will collaborate closely with architects, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient SAM implementations that meet client requirements.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing end-to-end ServiceNow SAM Pro solutions that align with client needs.
  • Configuring and customizing SAM, ITAM, and HAM modules to ensure seamless integration across enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshooting complex SAM module issues and providing effective resolutions.
  • Conducting technical design reviews and enforcing best practices to ensure high-quality solutions.
  • Delivering scalable solutions, technical documentation, and reusable components/IP.
  • Participating in full lifecycle implementations from requirement gathering to go-live support.
Required Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in ServiceNow design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of SAM processes, lifecycle management, and software spend optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with custom integrations (REST/SOAP, Flow Designer, Scripted APIs).
  • Development experience in Java/JavaScript with strong debugging skills.
  • Familiarity with Discovery, Service Mapping, and MID Server setup.
  • At least two full lifecycle ServiceNow SAM Pro implementations as a consultant/developer.
Certifications

Prior certification in ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - ITAM/SAM is highly preferred.

Familiarity with ITIL v3 framework is also beneficial for this role.
