As a Lead Engineer in Body in White (BIW) design and development, you will be responsible for driving the creation of high-quality BIW components for the automotive industry. With a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in Passenger Car BIW structure and Assembly, you will play a key role in our team.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design and development of BIW structures. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in creating innovative and cost-effective solutions using CAD design and simulation tools. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop BIW panels for the automotive industry.
  • Create Master sections and interpret results of Structural, Static & Dynamic, manufacturing simulations for BIW Components.
  • Design and develop BIW structures with in-depth knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFMA), manufacturing feasibility, and tooling feasibility of BIW components.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Leading a cross-functional team to achieve project goals.
  2. Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  3. Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners and suppliers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Passenger Car BIW structure and Assembly.
  • Strong experience in UG NX, Parametric Modelling, surface modelling, and Team Center.
  • Awareness of prototyping activities and builds.
  • Understanding of program requirements and managing deliverables accordingly.
  • Cost optimization ideas on components and assembly.

Preferred Skills

PREFERRED SKILLSinclude:

  • In-depth knowledge of materials, FMEA, GD&T, and Stack Up analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and joining techniques of BIW structures.
