Firewall Technical Specialist

This role involves supporting our network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for remote access and internet-based services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver high-quality technical assistance to customers via phone, email, or chat.
  • Implement consistent handling procedures.
  • Document all customer interactions within the ticketing system.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of customers.
  • Adhere to established guidelines to resolve specific problems.
  • Follow defined standards to collect and follow up on escalated issues.
  • Evaluate issues within designated parameters.
Level I Support:
  • Resolve customer inquiries by utilizing established protocols, documentation, online applications, or collaboration with internal and external support teams.
  • Analyze and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues by engaging with application end-users, engineers, and vendors.
Professional Growth:
  • Achieve individual metrics for Level 1 Support Engineer.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Participate in training programs covering new technologies, procedures, and customer service improvements.
Technical Competencies:
  • Familiarity with network protocols and concepts including SSH, FTP, ICMP, TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6), NAT, SNMP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VLANs.
  • Able to interpret output from network traffic analysis tools like Ethereal (Wireshark).
  • Effective interpersonal and consulting skills to match customer needs with tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Meraki and Fortinet firewalls.
  • Able to collaborate effectively in dynamic team environments.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of network protocols, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to perform well under pressure. They should also be familiar with TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, and have high ethical standards and integrity.
