Backend Data Migration Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong SQL expertise to support the migration of data solutions from cloud-based systems to secure, scalable databases.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of professional experience in backend development and database optimization, with the ability to design, implement, and deliver high-performance data workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain data migration solutions that ensure seamless integration between legacy systems and modern databases.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable backend services and APIs that integrate seamlessly with relational databases.
  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions to ensure efficient data processing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, data-driven solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring scalability, security, and data integrity across multiple systems.
  • Apply best practices in data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system efficiency.
  • Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning to drive innovation and improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in backend development and database administration.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g. SQL Server) and hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms.
  • Proficiency in a backend programming language (e.g. C#, Python, Java, or Node.js) and experience with API development and integration.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data governance.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies for efficient database deployment and management.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g. Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Database) is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in performance tuning of large-scale SQL queries and optimizing database query execution plans.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL or hybrid data solutions and exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts.
