Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned journalist to join our global editorial team as a senior market analyst covering the global ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, with a particular focus on India.

As a senior market analyst, you will be responsible for reporting ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India. You will also help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback, and generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with analysts in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues (e.g. regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.).
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships – ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development, assisting account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets.
  • Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores or related markets as a journalist, analyst or market reporter.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrable impact and influence skills.
  • Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (e.g. moderating panels at conferences)
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous
  • Exemplary written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone
  • Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering would be advantageous
