Software Simulation Engineer

Our ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing new features and functionality for our flagship simulation suite.

This involves mathematical model formulation, software design and implementation of simulation software. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining a library of process unit operations in steady state
  • Creating simulation utilities and interfaces to 3rd party simulators and tools

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality products and working collaboratively throughout the entire product development life cycle.

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelors/Master's degree in chemical engineering with 4-10 years of prior work experience in developing simulation software
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C++, C#, VB.Net and Component Object Model (COM)
  • Strong fundamentals in Chemical Engineering first principles modeling
  • Hands-on experience with mathematical formulation of unit operations, numerical methods for solving equations and flow sheet wide sequential solver approaches
  • Ability to simplify modelling equations for better model performance
  • Experience with constrained optimization or non-linear solvers

Preferred skills include:

  • Hands-on experience with UniSim Design, Hysys, ASPEN Plus, PROII, PetroSim, gProms, MatLab or SciLab
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM based development
  • Adept in unit testing and awareness on automated testing
  • Team player with ability to augment skills through self-learning and sharing
  • Deep customer empathy and customer-first mind set

We are looking for a team member who can qualitatively relate mathematical models to real-time process behavioral patterns.
