Key Leadership Role: Associate DirectorJob Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our team in the development and maintenance of rating criteria for various asset classes.

The successful candidate will oversee the creation and validation of credit rating models, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect market conditions and regulatory requirements. The Associate Director will also collaborate closely with rating committees, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure consistent and accurate application of rating models and criteria.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain rating criteria for various asset classes.
  • Lead the development and validation of credit rating models.
  • Ensure rating models are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Collaborate closely with rating committees, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee model validation activities and remediation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for rating models and criteria.
  • Provide training and support to rating analysts.

Research and Thought Leadership:

  • Conduct research and produce high-quality reports and presentations on macroeconomic developments, credit trends, and industry trends.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, think-tanks, academia, and financial services companies.
  • Track and interpret ongoing risk, regulations, and related regulatory expectations.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Drive continuous improvement through researching advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of risk policy and regulatory reporting is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Solid understanding of model risk management principles and governance requirements.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in analytical roles, credit research, macroeconomic research, industry research, and financial modelling in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in credit risk model development, rating criteria development, and research report writing.
  • Working knowledge of R and/or Python for statistical modeling and data analysis is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint).
