Rating Developer Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled software developer to contribute to the successful configuration and customization of PolicyCenter, specifically focusing on the Rating engine. This role requires expertise in rating algorithms, business rules, and GOSU scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and configure Rating engine solutions for PolicyCenter.
  • Collaborate with analysts and actuaries to implement rating logic and pricing models.
  • Customize and enhance rating worksheets and templates based on business requirements.
  • Work on Rating Management, Parameter Sets, Rate Books, Rate Tables, and Rate Routines.
  • Perform unit testing and support system/integration/UAT testing for rating components.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, coding standards, and security guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve rating issues in lower and production environments.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning to deliver quality software.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in PolicyCenter, with a strong focus on Rating Development.
  • Proficiency in GOSU programming language and PolicyCenter tools.
  • Experience with Rate Books, Rate Routines, Parameter Sets, and Lookup Tables.
  • Understanding of Personal or Commercial lines insurance products.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Guidewire Rating Management (GRM).
  • Familiarity with Product Model and Rating Worksheet Debugging Tools.
  • Exposure to Workers' Compensation, Auto, or Property lines of business.
  • Integration knowledge of PolicyCenter with BillingCenter and other systems.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
