We are seeking an experienced and skilled Architect to join our team. As an Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing architectural solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Architect with 0-2+ years of experience to lead projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of project completion steps, excellent communication skills, and the ability to conduct quality assurance checks to follow regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing architectural designs and plans, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and government regulations, researching and inquiring about different materials, supervising Junior Architects, and scheduling and delivering at skill enhancement workshops.

You will also be responsible for explaining design requirements and specifications to Builders, Electricians, and Technicians, communicating project status and completion timelines to clients, preparing building models and structure plans, conducting mockup sessions, guiding the construction project from start to finish, and presenting project briefs to clients.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently
• Strong proficiency modeling in REVIT and SketchUp
• A growing understanding of building codes and how to apply them
• Excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyzing architectural designs and plans
• Ensuring all designs meet industry standards and government regulations
• Researching and inquiring about different materials
• Supervising Junior Architects and assigning them tasks
• Scheduling and delivering at skill enhancement workshops
• Explaining design requirements and specifications to Builders, Electricians, and Technicians
• Communicating project status and completion timelines to the clients
• Preparing building models and structure plans
• Conducting mockup sessions
• Guiding the construction project from start to finish
• Presenting project briefs to clients
• Understanding the clients' requirements/preferences and environmental impacts on the construction project
• Creating blueprints and making alterations based on the feedback from the client
• Developing projects by adhering to the specified budget and timeline
• Undertaking regular site visits and inspections
• Developing and interpreting a range of structural designs and acting as mentors, managers, and advisors
• Controlling projects from start to finish to ensure high-quality, innovative, and functional design
• Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and architectural judgment in developing architectural solutions
• Producing construction documents using REVIT
• Understanding construction assemblies and best practices
• Actively coordinating design and equipment with consultants and other disciplines
• Researching and selecting building products and composing written specifications
• Participating in project meetings and documenting discussions through meeting minutes
• Actively participating in quality assurance/quality control review sessions at project milestones
• Compiling all documentation required to submit projects to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for review and approval. Tracks submissions and responds to comments and requests from AHJs as required to obtain permits
• Managing project through Construction Administration phase by routing RFIs and shop drawings to the appropriate team member, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, issuing ASIs and RFPs, and reviewing pay applications
• Traveling to and visiting project construction sites to observe construction progress and compose field reports. (Site visits may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out-of-town project locations)
• Continually learning and staying informed of new systems, methods, and sustainable practices to benefit the collective team and clients
• Actively supporting strategic goals of the firm, studio, department, and manager, as well as understanding how your actions contribute to them
• Being self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with other design professionals
• Having excellent problem-solving skills and being an independent thinker with good listening skills and strong follow-through
• Having excellent graphic, communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
• Being willing to work on a variety of project types, building typologies, and architectural styles
• Having strong proficiency modeling in REVIT and SketchUp
• Having a growing understanding of building codes and how to apply them
• Performing other duties as assigned.
