Database Migration Specialist

Our team seeks an experienced Database Migration Specialist to lead complex Oracle database migrations across various platforms.

  • This role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments, including backup/recovery, replication, and monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning, designing, and executing Oracle database migrations across data centers and cloud setups, with a focus on zero/near-zero downtime and seamless delivery.

  • The selected individual will be responsible for defining migration strategies, methodologies, and best practices; collaborating with cloud architects and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migrations; and documenting knowledge transfer and rollback procedures.

Additionally, the successful candidate will possess strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-resolution skills, particularly in Exadata/ExaCC environments.

Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Data Guard setup and switchover.
  • Familiarity with Rubrik for backup, restore, and DR integration, RMAN for backup/recovery, and OEM for monitoring and migration validation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS and Azure, including data purging, retention policies, and compliance for regulated environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC-based DB provisioning.
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios and DevOps pipelines for automated DB deployment.
