Contract Manager Job Description

The role of a Contract Manager is crucial in shaping the future of business operations across various industries. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our contract management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, Reviewing, and Negotiating Contracts:
    • Develop clear, comprehensive, and enforceable agreements that meet the organization's needs.
    • Review terms and conditions to identify potential risks, liabilities, and ambiguities.
    • Negotiate favorable terms while ensuring a balanced risk allocation.
  • Risk Identification and Management:
    • Proactively assess contractual, commercial, and execution risks associated with contracts.
    • Implement mitigation strategies and maintain a risk register to ensure compliance.
    • Provide early warnings to management regarding potential exposures.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation:
    • Maintain an organized contract repository, including approvals, correspondence, and variations.
    • Track milestones, obligations, guarantees, insurance, and payments to ensure seamless contract execution.
    • Ensure audit readiness and transparency in reporting to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track key dates and deadlines to prevent contract breaches.
    • Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on contract performance and progress.
    • Highlight deviations and recommend corrective actions to minimize conflicts.
  • Dispute Prevention and Resolution:
    • Monitor performance and obligations to minimize conflicts and disputes.
    • Manage claims preparation and defense to protect the organization's interests.
    • Engage in negotiations, settlements, or formal dispute resolution to safeguard organizational assets.

Qualifications:

  • B.Tech (Any Stream) degree from a recognized institution.
  • 9-12 years of experience in contract management, negotiation, and risk assessment.
  • Strong expertise in contract law, negotiation techniques, and risk management principles.
